  4. i dont thnk export houses (both manufacturing and services) wont support an appreciating Rupee simple because tht wl result in lesser Rupee realisation. tht wl adversely affect the cost effectiveness of indian companies as they wl b forced to hike the prices to maintain profit. Japaness Yen is a good example.

abt reducing imports: Oil is the major material tht we import.. temme how can we reduce oil imports overnite

  5. Mr. Ranjith as you were aware that most of our export businesses are in high profit earning companies mostly because of our government have implemented lot of schemes to promote export . only thing is they have to maintain international standard of products ... we have lot of natural resources.. our goverment should implement schemes for the qualitative production..in international markets indian made products have not ensuring quality .. thats why we are not geting value of our products.. for example Indian pepper price is less than Malasian pepper price .. why not we have to keep minimum standard ?

If we keep the quality of our indian products we will not go for a forign product..Now adays most of our house hold items we are importing... Oil is the main import material that i accepts but why not we reducing import of other materials from outside...we have lot of opportunity in our tourism sector ..we have to keep standard of tourism destination ..only keralam keeping minimum standard in tourism but it is not enough as compared with forign standard.. above all our government policies are adversily affecting the tourism industry.. they have to accept the changes and keep our economy ... then everything will be in our hand ...

I am not an economist.. my thinking is like an ordinary people ....

Thank you for reading my thinking ..

  7. see, i don't think Indian companies export high value items like electronic equipment or machinery.. our main strength is agri produces and service sector incl tourism. if rupee appreciates against Dollar or Euro, those companies will be forced to hike their Dollar or Euro prices so that they have enuf forex to meet their domestic and international expenses. in service and agri sector competition is fierce and companies wll tend to go to place tht offer them qulaity and at the same time cost effectiveness. Chinese keep their currency peggd to the Dollar and donot allow free trade in currency market because they dont want to mess up the export business.

and last but not the least, value of currency is not a suitable means to measure the growth rate.
